General Information To Get Started

So what exactly do you need to start training?

  • No previous training or experience is necessary.
  • Training is done in bare feet & loose clothing so no equipment is required to start.
  • Students may pay as they go which is £5 per lesson; or pay a cheaper monthly rate of £35 for unlimited training with the same instructor.
  • If students decide to join Kim Chung Do Kwan the membership and insurance is £30 a year.

Age Range: Taekwondo training requires a certain degree of concentration and disciple therefore the minimum starting age is 7 years old. However, instructors MAY use their discretion so please check with the individual club. There is no maximum age for Taekwondo, people in their eighties are still known to train.

OUR INSTRUCTORS RECOGNISE THAT EVERY SINGLE PERSON IS AN INDIVIDUAL AND WILL HAVE DIFFERENT STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. EVERY SINGLE PERSON REGARDLESS OF AGE, GENDER AND ABILITY CAN BENFIT FROM THE MARTIAL ARTS. ADULTS ESPECIALLY ARE VERY CONSCIOUS ABOUT STEPPING ON THE FLOOR. THAT IS THE HARDEST PART. ONCE YOU HAVE TRAINED YOU WILL WONDER WHY ALL THE WORRY. YOUR INSTRUCTOR WILL HELP YOU AND WELCOME YOU SO MAKE THE FIRST STEP BY STEPPING ONTO THE FLOOR!
